Summary:
The webinar commenced with Dr. Rajani Mullerpatan, Director, MGM School of Physiotherapy, Navi Mumbai greeting students and faculty members for the webinar on “World Alzhimers Day”. Dr. Rajani introduced all the speakers and briefed about objectives of the webinar. Following this Dr. Omeshree Nagrale (PT) emphasized about courses offered by various universities for training of physiotherapist in elderly care in India as a part for curriculum at BPT & MPT level. She also highlighted various gaps to overcome & opportunities in the field. Ms. Vidya Shenoy mentioned about the work at SMRITI VISHVAM which is Dementia Day care Centre, where the residents are involved in various activities for Patients mental well-being and emotional stability. Further, Dr. Poonam Desai (PT) briefed about effects of ageing on various body systems & functions. Followed by this Dr.Samita Kirve enlightened the participates on real time practices of person centered care in Dementia in UK. Amruta Lovekar later highlighted about Individual aspects pertinent to Alzheimer’s Disease along with various tools for understanding of the subject. Dr. Shashank Dalvi concluded the webinar by appreciating and thanking all the speakers for sharing their knowledge on the respective topic. Further, Dr.Omeshree Nagrale(PT) extended vote of thanks to all speakers, participants and organizers.
