The department of Neurophysiotherapy delivers valuable service to a wide spectrum of patients at all the hospitals of MGM across Navi Mumbai. We serve patients in specialized wards such as Medical, Surgical, Paediatric alongwith our routine Neurophysiotherapy OPD whereby our team of experts indulge in the rehabilitation of ‘specially abled patients’ until they are functionally abled and well ambulated. We practise techniques of Neuro Developmental Treatment, Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Vojta, Rood’s to improve the quality of life of our patients.

In Neurophysiotherapy Unit, we treat patients with Stroke, Parkinson Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, Polyneuropathy, Muscular Dystrophy, Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury with utmost care and stringent monitoring whereby we try to optimize and maximize their functional abilities. Special needs of specific neurological conditions like Parkinson’s Disease, Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Cerebral Palsy are managed through multidisciplinary team that consists of Neurologist, Occupational Therapist, Prosthetics and Orthotics whom we invite from MGM Group of Hospitals.

We organize specialized clinical training of undergraduate and post graduate students through multidisciplinary team of Neurologist, Occupational Therapist, Prosthetics and Orthotics invited from MGM Group of Hospitals along with our in-house skilled Physiotherapists. Our students also receive hands-on training at Sharan Paraplegic Foundation, Vashi and Ashray Special School by our extremely skilled faculty for rehabilitation of spinal cord injury patients and children with developmental disorders.

Patient Support Groups

• Patients travel to Mumbai to seek specialized care for Neurological Conditions. To provide the service at Navi Mumbai, ‘Patient Support Groups’ were introduced.
• Support groups and group sessions are conceptualized, planned and executed by Neurophysiotherapy Department. We identify topics which are essential in management of specific conditions and plan a session with the patients based on it. These sessions are conducted every month for Stroke, Spinal cord Injury and Parkinson Disease.
• In view of Pandemic, we have introduced tele rehabilitation, so that our patients can avail the specialized care from home
